Ring In 2021 Without a DUI or OWI

Holt Legal Group Staff • Dec 30, 2020

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!

As the year 2020 wraps up, people are going to be eager to celebrate and welcome the year 2021!

Celebrating with friends, family, and loved ones is always a pleasant way to end a very odd 2020, and welcome a (hopefully) brighter 2021! However, with celebration, comes the urge to drink and drive.

New Year’s Eve is one of the top causes for an increase in DUIs, OWIs, car accidents, and avoidable deaths. Please, if you decide to celebrate with alcohol or other mind-altering substances, be responsible!!

If you find yourself in a position where you have had 1 too many, please find an alternate way home. Numerous companies help or provide discounts on New Year’s Eve to assist individuals getting home safe and sound.

Companies and people to rely on:
• Have a friend or family member be the designated driver
• Call an Uber (usually offers discounts on New Year’s Eve)
• Call a Lyft (usually offers discounts on New Year’s Eve)
• Call a sober friend or family member
• Contact your local police station if it is a non-life-threatening emergency
• Call 911 if it is an emergency
Stay the night at the place you are celebrating
• Choose to be the designated driver for your family or friends

If you find yourself needing legal advice or representation due to a DUI, OWI, or other matters, please reach out. We will be happy to assist you!

Holt Legal Group wishes everyone a healthy and blessed New Year! Stay safe, drink responsibly and social distance!

Happy 2021!!
